Recombinant protein from the full-length sequence of homo sapiens O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) (NM_002412), with a DYKDDDDK tag.
O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase; OTTHUMP00000020741; methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase; O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase
>90% by SDS-PAGE gel and Coomassie Blue staining
Antigens, Western, ELISA and other in vitro binding or in vivo functional assays, and protein-protein interaction studies; For research & development use only!
Purified protein formulated in a sterile solution of TBS buffer, pH7.4, without any preservatives
Endotoxin level is < 0.1 ng/µg of protein (<1EU /µg)
Involved in the cellular defense against the biological effects of O6-methylguanine (O6-MeG) in DNA. Repairs alkylated guanine in DNA by stoichiometrically transferring the alkyl group at the O-6 position to a cysteine residue in the enzyme. This is a suicide reaction: the enzyme is irreversibly inactivated. [UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function]
